I am currently an associate professor and the Anthony Moroux Endowed Professor in Political Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Department of Political Science, where I have worked since 2024. Between 2016 and 2024, I was a political science professor (tenured and promoted in 2021) in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Auburn University at Montgomery. My research and teaching interests largely center upon American politics with emphases in political institutions and the separation of powers, research methods (including measurement theory and public opinion), law and courts, state politics, southern politics, and applied game theory. My research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals such as Political Behavior, Political Research Quarterly, the Journal of Law and Courts, and State Politics & Policy Quarterly, where I currently serve as a member of the editorial board. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Montevallo in 2011 and my Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2016. You can find my Google Scholar page here
