The following files are included in this zipped folder:

1. "table2_code.odc": This file is designed to be opened using the computer program, WinBUGS. It contains the Bayesian model used to estimate each of the parameters presented in Table 2 of the main text.
2. "table2_data.txt": This file contains the data used to estimate the Bayesian model contained in "table2_code.odc". It is formatted for use in WinBUGS.
3. "tableA1_code.odc": This file is designed to be opened using the computer program, WinBUGS. It contains the Bayesian model used to estimate the temporal model parameters presented in Table A1 in the supplementary Appendix, in addition to the parameters graphed in Figure 3 in the main text.
4. "tableA1_data.txt": This file contains the data used to estimate the Bayesian model contained in "tableA1_code.odc". It is formatted for use in WinBUGS.
5. "training_code.odc": This file is designed to be opened using the computer program, WinBUGS. It contains the Bayesian model used to estimate the training dataset ideal points referenced for the construct validity test in the main text under the section, "Ideology on the U.S. Courts of Appeals."
6. "training_data.txt": This file contains the data used to estimate the Bayesian model contained in "training_code.odc". It is formatted for use in WinBUGS.
7. "practice_dofile.do": This file is designed to be opened using the computer program, STATA. It contains the data from the practice dataset with the training dataset's ideal points. It is intended to be used to check the construct validity of the ideal point estimator presented within the main text.
8. "practice_data.dta": This file contains the data used to estimate the logistic regression model fit statistics contained in "practice_dofile.do". It is formatted for use in STATA.
